Eco-Congregation

Dialstone Lane Methodist Church is working towards becoming an Eco-Congregation.

Eco-Congregation is an ecumenical programme helping Churches make the link between environmental issues and Christian faith, and to respond in practical action in the church, in the lives of individuals, and in the local and global community.

At Dialstone Lane our environmental concerns are reflected in:-
• Improvements to our building. (e.g. low energy light bulbs,  recycling, cavity wall and loft insulation where possible, and solar power panels)
• Special services (e.g. World Environment day and Harvest), as well as a greater awareness of environmental issues in other services.
• An Eco Bible study.
• Our concern for our global neighbours, who are those most greatly effected by climate change. (e.g. through supporting fair trade and our Church charities, The Boaz Trust and Tools with a Mission)
• The young people in Junior church, making wormeries, a creation banner and planting bulbs.

If you would like to get involved watch the notice sheet or website for details of Working Party meetings.
